The “StifterHaus” is an umbrella concept bringing together the Adalbert Stifter Institute founded in 1950 which offers research facilities in literature and language and the House of Literature, which organizes literary events. Both are accommodated in the former house of Adalbert Stifter (1805-1868).

Members of the Adalbert Stifter Institute
According to statute, the Institute has the benefit of the work of international literary scholars in its own research activities. These scholars are nominated by the Institute council and confirmed as members of the Institute by the Provincial Government. Scholars become either Ordinary or Extraordinary (corresponding) members.
